Film Club creates curtain raiser for production of 'Seed Guardians' at the North Wall

On Friday 4th October, twenty year 9s visited the North Wall Arts Centre in Summertown to watch their film, aired on the big screen as the curtain raiser prior to the Mandela Theatre Company's performance of 'Seed Guardians'.

Seed Guardians is about food security and the documentary film club was asked to produce a film about food poverty in Oxford to show at the theatre prior to the play.

The film was scripted using verbatim interviews with volunteers at an Oxford food bank and students also created performances based on how they would feel if their family needed to use a food bank.
 
The theatre visit was a great success and the students were very excited and proud to see their film on screen. Following the performance of the play, students participated in a Q&A session with the Director/Writer and actors. They learnt about the background for writing the play and the skills required of an actor.
