Cheney School A Level results 2026

Once again, we are very proud of all our students and their teachers. We have lots to celebrate this year, with our largest ever cohort of Year 13 students. Over a quarter of our grades were A* or A, with well over half getting A* to B, with similar proportions of Distinctions and Distinction* in BTEC. 

More important than the number of grades is the success of our individual students, and the places that these results will take them. Once again, most of our graduating students are going on to university, with almost 100 of our university-bound students getting into their first choice or insurance choices, including 29% to Russell Group universities, 4 into Cambridge and 4 to Oxford. Equally important are the numbers going on to art foundation courses, or apprenticeships, which are becoming an increasingly valuable route after A Levels: we have 6 confirmed at this stage, with more to come in the next few weeks.

Some individual success stories are:

Elsa (3 A* in Ancient Greek, French and Maths to add to her A* in Latin last year) is going to read Linguistics at Cambridge.

Khalil (A*AB in Economics, Maths and Further Maths) will be taking up a place on the University of Oxford Astrophoria Philosophy, Politics and Economics Foundation Year.

Bhu-Devi (A*AA in Politics, History and French, plus A* in her Extended Project) is going to read History and Politics at Cambridge.

Millie (A*AA in History, Maths and Politics) is going to read History at Cambridge.

Albie (A*A*A*A in Maths, Further Maths, Philosophy and Computer Science plus an A* in Extended Project) is going to read Maths and Philosophy at Oxford.

Amelie (A*A*A in Chemistry, English and French, plus an A* in the Extended Project to add to her A in Maths AS last year) is going to read Law at Oxford.

Leo (A*AA in Art, Geography and Biology, plus an A* in Extended Project) is going to read Human Sciences at Oxford.
